November 2024 Update

Greetings, everyone.
It's been a while since I've posted anything to the JakeDurr.com blog, hence the removal of the tab years ago, but there's no character limit here and I've got a lot of information to share with you all in regard to my Sporcle Events, so let's get right down to it.
First of all, many thanks to Justin Christoff once again for coming in clutch this past Thursday the 14th in being my substitute host. Congratulations to the Wool Balls on scoring their second consecutive Railroad Brewing Venue Championship!
Foundry Social players; a reminder that Stuart Schossow is returning to the host table for the next two weeks due to my contractual obligations with the Akron Zips. (Yay, mid-week football!) I will be back behind the mic in Medina on December 3rd.
Railroad Brewing players, with Thanksgiving falling on the 28th and Justin returning to fill my shoes on the 5th of December (due to Ashland Eagles obligations), this coming Thursday's 90s Trivia Night is the last set of Sporcle games I'm hosting until the Globe Games. Yeah, I know, right?... and speaking of 90s Trivia Night, the start time for that event has been bumped up a half hour (6:30 PM start) to make sure we're all done before the Browns v Steelers football game that's slated to kick off at 8:15 PM. Railroad reminds everyone that we'll have the game on, and gameday specials will be running in hopes that you can stick around and enjoy the game with us.
Finally, the Globe Games are taking place on Saturday, December 7th. The first question will be read at 2:05 PM, but we highly encourage everyone to come early for team recognition. The full host lineup has not yet been announced, but Sporcle did confirm I will be leading the effort. Railroad is prepared to have 25 tables of 5 people set up and still have additional limited room for spectating/rotating individuals. As it was in the springtime, rotating players and friends of teams officially competing will need to be seated or standing in designated areas during gameplay so as to prevent cheating. More information on the rotating player policy can be obtained at Sporcle.com. Teams with handicap needs will be given priority to seating that best accommodates those needs. The restaurant will be closed to the public for the duration of the event. Doors will open at noon to competing teams and Railroad's regular trivia players that plan to spectate. Venue Champions can RSVP as soon as this Friday, November 22nd at NOON. Regular Season Champions can RSVP on November 25th at NOON. Any other team that has played at least five Sporcle games this season, regardless of game format, are eligible to RSVP on November 29th at, you guessed it, NOON.
That's it for now, gang. Stay tuned, and hope to see you this coming Thursday for 90s trivia and the Browns game at Center Station.
